Description
The Zoo Med Desert UVB and Heat Lighting Kit is a must - have for desert reptile habitats. It comes with a Mini Combo Deep Dome Lamp Fixture, a Reptisun 10.0 UVB Lamp, and a Zoo Med Repti Basking Spot Lamp. This kit is perfect for desert setups and is incredibly easy to install. The Mini Combo Deep Dome Lamp Fixture, crafted from polished aluminium, is a dual - function fixture. It allows two bulbs to operate simultaneously. With its long reflector dome, it maximizes heat and light output while keeping the bulbs from protruding. The dual ceramic sockets can support lamps up to 100 watts. The Reptisun 10.0 Mini UVB Lamp, a 13 - watt lamp, is great for desert and basking reptiles. It offers maximum UVB penetration, helping to prevent or reverse bone disease. This cool - burning compact fluorescent bulb can be directly screwed into standard threaded sockets, eliminating the need for an extra ballast. The Zoo Med Repti Basking Spot Lamp, a 75 - watt basking light, features a double reflector. It focuses more heat and light into a concentrated beam, making it suitable for all types of reptiles.
Using this Zoo Med lighting kit is a breeze. First, find a suitable spot in your reptile's desert setup to install the Mini Combo Deep Dome Lamp Fixture. Make sure it's at a safe distance from the reptile to avoid burns. Then, screw the Reptisun 10.0 UVB Lamp and the Zoo Med Repti Basking Spot Lamp into the dual ceramic sockets of the fixture. Plug in the fixture and turn it on. The UVB lamp will provide the necessary UVB rays for your reptile's health, and the basking spot lamp will create a warm area for it to relax. When it comes to maintenance, regularly check the bulbs for any signs of damage or dimming. Replace them if needed. Also, clean the fixture with a soft, dry cloth to keep it in good condition. Avoid using harsh chemicals on the fixture as it might damage the polished aluminium finish. And always remember to unplug the fixture before any maintenance work to ensure your safety.
